At the time of his disappearance, Paul Batson was living in Batavia, Illinois. He is a US Navy Veteran and had worked for the postal service since 1994.
Disappearance
In late April 2018, Paul Batson traveled from his home in Illinois to visit his sons in Colorado, before continuing on to Utah and Montana in search of job opportunities.
On April 29, 2018, Paul was last captured on video at the Bozeman Public Library, located at 626 East Main Street in Bozeman, Montana. His cell phone stopped pinging later that day; it was either turned off or died.
He had a scheduled meeting with the Bozeman Postal Service the following day regarding a job transfer, but never arrived.
Investigation
Around 7:00 pm on April 30, 2018, Paul’s vehicle, a 2016 Dodge Charger, was found at a gas station in Reed Point, Montana. His keys were found on the ground next to the car. Inside the vehicle was an “extremely clean” travel bag, though his cell phone and wallet were missing.
Stillwater County Search and Rescue crews, along with sheriff’s deputies and searchers from other counties using boats and dogs searched more than 500 acres in the Reed Point, but no further clues as to his whereabouts have been found.
“We do not believe there was any criminal involvement in Batson’s disappearance,” the Bozeman Police Department has stated.
